Recent data released by National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) rates Delhi as the most unsafe place for children. A total of 33,098 cases of crime against children have been reported in the country in 2011 as compared to 26,694, a 24 per cent increase from last year. The rate of crime (number of crime per one lakh population) against children was highest in Delhi (25.4 per cent) followed by Andaman and Nicobar Islands (20.3 per cent), Chandigarh and Chhattisgarh (7 per cent each) and Madhya Pradesh (6 per cent). According to the figures available with the bureau, almost 4,250 cases were registered in Delhi.
