Pardeep Malik, 59, and Hamant Mullick, 60, from Nassau county are being accused of producing, storing and selling $2 million worth of beauty and health products. The products range from shampoos to oils and everything in between.

*From CBS : *Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced Friday the arrests of Pardeep Malik, 59, and Hamant Mullick, 60, for making, packaging and selling $2 million worth of bogus goods.

This is one of the first counterfeiting operations where things are actually getting manufactured. The brothers were making copies of popular products of Johnson Johnson, Procter &Gamble, Pfizer and Unilever products. Things like baby oil, come into the market only after they are deemed fit for use, after a number of tests. The brothers were selling these products without any safety tests or license. The counterfeit is now being tested for safety issues.

From NY post Ringleaders Pardeep Malik, 59, of Plainview and Hamant Mullick, 60, of Franklin Square were charged with felony trademark counterfeiting and were being held on $100,000 bonds. The brothers employed about 20 people in the ring.

The fake products are not limited to just Chap Stick, Johnson's Baby Oil, Vicks VapoRub, Vicks Inhaler, Vaseline, sanitary pads but also include over the counter pain and cold medication.
