Eat real food and move more
Another research study published in NYT states that dependence on fat and protein for general food throughout the day helps maintain lean muscle and in many cases boosts HDL (good cholesterol) and may boost weight loss too.
The new study was financed by the National Institutes of Health and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. It included a racially diverse group of 150 men and women — a rarity in clinical nutrition studies — who were assigned to follow diets for one year that limited either the amount of carbs or fat that they could eat, but not overall calories.
Weight loss, healthy eating has become a contentious issue- everyone is rife with knowledge and also totally unsure about what works and what doesn’t.
The research makes sense; fat especially the unsaturated kind (nuts, olive oil, Fish) has always been good for you. The novel thing the research introduced was to give up counting calories and just focus on eating unsaturated fat and proteins. Calorie counting is extensive and exhaustive and sometimes totally impractical.
There will be countless other articles on weight loss, healthy living leaving you confused. The only wise thing to remember is avoid junk, sugar and food that look like it comes from a chemistry lab. If it’s natural and was eaten a century ago, it is good for you –eat less, eat real food and move more.
