Thoughtful People

ThoughtfulIndia has always been built on the conviction that ideas matter — that thoughtful people engaging seriously with the questions of our time is not a luxury but a necessity.
This feature celebrates a gathering of exactly such people. Arun Shourie, the journalist and former government minister whose willingness to challenge orthodoxies across India's political and intellectual landscape has made him one of the country's most distinctive voices; Ferose, Managing Director of SAP Labs Bangalore, whose work at the intersection of technology, inclusion, and human potential represents some of the most grounded thinking happening in Indian corporate life; and TGC Prasad, author, whose writing explores the dimensions of Indian experience that the mainstream narrative tends to pass over.
What connects these three figures is a quality harder to define than any credential: a genuine seriousness about the questions they engage with. Shourie on corruption and institutional decay. Ferose on autism, on neurodiversity, on what it means to build organizations that actually include the range of human capability. Prasad on the stories that need telling.
ThoughtfulIndia exists in the conviction that India at this moment in its history has more thoughtful people than its public discourse reflects — that the gap between the quality of thinking happening in its institutions, its homes, and its workplaces and the quality of thinking visible in its politics and media is a gap worth working to close.
Gatherings like this one are small evidence for optimism.
